More Power To You Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton
April 20th, 2009I say more power to you Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton. In a time when nobody wants to step on any toes she stuck to her guns and said it like she feels it!
Here was the scenario -
During the show, Perez asked Carrie, “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”
Kristen Dalton answered –
“Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and in, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” Carrie said to a mix of boos and applause. “No offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think that it should be between a man and a woman.”
So Perez says this cost her the crown! He is just spinning intolerance back on her! What if it were the other way around? A straight judge decides to not award a Lesbian the crown because she decides to say that any sex can marry whatever sex they want. All I’m saying is if the tables were turned this would be a huge blowout, people would be apologizing left and right!
God forbid we stick to our faith and how we were raised.

It’s great to hear someone defending family values. It’s about time. What even happened to embracing our differences? I guess we are only supposed to embrace the differences we share with the liberal left. Because when our differences align us with the conservative right, we are intolerant. When they align with the left, we are enlightened. Thank God I am not “enlightened”. My open-mindedness stops when I have looked at the facts and made a decision. Perhaps being open-minded really means “can’t settle on what I believe, so I’ll be open to changing my mind when the pressure gets to be too much.”
Keep up the good work here,
