YMADS is a scam!!! What a bunch of crooks. If you are running their code on your site take it off!!!

Well I wanted to create this review because it seems that YMADS is still very new. I’m talking real new. So new I don’t even know if I should trust it. In my quest to find adsense/revenue alternatives I came across I am always skeptical of new ad networks, that offer high CPM, but ya gotta give it a shot right?

As of yesterday I added a few banners to one of my real high traffic sites. I have made about $50 with just about 69,000 impressions and 200 clicks. That is not bad! It has been running a little over half a day, and I added this to a blank ad spot on my site, so if this continues it will be a nice boost in revenue.

Now to the crappy part! Is YMADS a scam? I don’t know yet. I have been doing some research and some people are saying yes, but nobody has any real proof just yet. The real proof will be if people are getting paid via NET30 so I think I am going to let the ads run a few days and see where I am revenue wise then pause until I get paid. If I get paid then I will really let this run.

Also on a side note i have gone back and forth with Alex the owner via email and he has been responsive so that is always a good sign. I just wanted to post my thoughts here because it is always nice to find a new ad network that can make you $$$, but getting that money is important to!

UPDATE 5/25/2011

Just wanted to make an update. Still no payment since it hasn’t been 30 days, but I Have gone back and forth with Alex, so there has been communication. He assures me they are legit and CEO’s are from Europe. That really doesn’t mean that much, but I just wanted to share that info. See you in a few weeks to see if payment has been made. Oh and I have $400 in my account and have stop running the ads until first payment. That payment can’t come quick enough!

UPDATE 6/2/2011

Well there was a new email about get payment NET5 if you have over 10k US impressions. I emailed alex and never heard back. Said NET5 people would get paid in the next few days. I logged in this morning and noticed there are dates scheduled for payment. For me it says I will get paid July 1. I will follow up with the NET5, but as of now that is where I stand with YMADS! SCAM or NOT? Still no true verdict!

Move forward about 5 years and I am in the same situation except this time my computers are running windows 7. So I bought a copy of the latest Norton Ghost and sat down to give this a shot. I tried creating a copy of the disk, but no luck. To make the long story short after searching around I found fixes but they were all a huge pain!!!! Really!

So what is my solution? Who came to my rescue? Holy Crap it was Microsoft! Yeah for real!

There is  a feature in Windows 7 that lets you create an image of your HD. Pretty sweet and it actually works and works well!

There are a few ways to do it, but here is how I did it in my situation. If your reading this then you have a clue what you are doing so you will figure it if your situation is a bit different.

First thing is to setup up your master computer like you want it. Duh

Creating the Image

• Next you want to go to Start>Control Panel> Backup
• Click on Create a System Image “You have options… I chose network”
• Let this run and after that it will ask you to create a system repair dvd.
• Create the repair DVD and you are ready to rock!

Setting up the other computers

• Boot the computer up with the System Repair DVD
• You want to restore from image
• It will say cannot find system image.. so hit cancel
• Check select a system and hit next
• Select Advanced then search on network
• Are you sure? Hit Yes… wait a bit….
• Select your image and your good to go… Will take awhile depending on size.

Like I said your situation might be different. I chose to do this from network, but I am sure if you have this much info to go on you will figure out it.

I installed office 2010 and uninstalled 2003. This is where I had some issues. When I would try too directly click on a word or excel document that was made in 2003 I would get errors. So I figured I just had too associate them with 2010 right? Wrong!! As I tried too open with and save the default program, the default program was no where too be found!

If I was in word or excel I could go too file > open and get file that way, but who wants too do that? Not me. Anyways here is the fix!
Don’t ask me why this has too be done, but as soon as I did it Voila it worked.

Make sure online. Go to control panel. programs. programs and features. uninstall a program. Select microsoft office installed. click change and wait until it finished doing whatever the heck it is doing. When complete exit. No go double click on your file and give it a minute. It will go out to the internet too dowlnload some stuff and it should work.

Why do we need too go through this is beyond me but it works. I can’t wait too go install this on 25 workstations! YEY For me!
