Windows Data Recovery Software
March 11th, 2010Well if you work with computers or use a computer which is anyone reading this hehe then you have probably experience data loss at one time or another! It sucks! You don’t know how many times I get friends and family asking if I can get their data back for them that they deleted or that is now corrupt because the hard drive crashed.
Over the years I have used a few different data recovery softwares, but most of the time removing the hard drive and putting it into an external HD case would enable me to get the info I needed off the hard drive. The only times there were issues was when there was some really deep corruption going on. Most software will detect and try to find the old data and I have had programs running for days trying to get the data back!! Thats not fun at all.
Step in windows data recovery software from Disk Doctors Software. Not only was it fast it worked! I tested this out on an older hard drive that I had laying around which I knew had some corruption and never had the time to deal with it. I was able to scan it and get the data back in a few hours! HTC TOUCH 2 FAIL
February 12th, 2010Ok so this week I had to replace some of our Black Berry Storms, which really scuk by the way.
I was replacing them with 2 Blackberry Tours and 1 HTC Touch 2
I have to say that the Tours did their job. They functioned properly and retrieved email smoothly. The querty keypad was great and the users were happy.
On to the HTC Touch 2. What a piece of junk!! Years ago I had used the T-mobile htc model. The one before the wing. For the life of me I can’t think 0f the name. Anyways that phone did me well. It ran windows mobile and I really never had an issue with it.
This new HTC Touch 2 is like the bastard child of a storm and a wing. They just try to do too much!
It comes with a stylus, but they tell you too use your finger. Instead of picking one they decided to suck at both options.
My first opinion right off the bat after I turned it on and tried to get around was that it sucked! I wanted my boss to form his own opinion so after I configured it to run with our exchange server I let him have at it!
Bosses Conclusion : This thing is a piece of S*** Ha. I then said to him, “yup I know, but I wanted you to come to your own conclusion.”
It seems to me that all these phones try to do everything, and never really focus on the main things.
That is why I truly love the simplicity of my iphone. The only reason I can’t get people here are the iphone is because they have this idea that AT&T has no coverage even though I tell them I never have any issues. My iphone is hooked up to our exchange server as well and runs great! I have 4 emails address running off of it and it is so smooth!
You truly can’t beat the simplicity of the IPHONE. Well until the next phone stumbles into my door I will be sticking with my Iphone.
HTC TOUCH 2 = FAIL!
P.S. Too wipe the data off the HTC Touch 2 you need to click on Settings, Then all settings at the bottom left, them system, then storage, Type in 1234 click ok and sent that piece of crap back!!!
Windshield Wonder Review
January 27th, 2010Have you seen the Windshield Wonder? So my mom got me one as a stocking stuff er for Christmas. I finally just got around to using it today Jan 27th 2010! It had been sitting on my kitchen table and every time I would leave for work in the morning I kept meaning to grab it since my car window was filthy.
Well today I grabbed it! Of course it was freezing out and I got in my cold car and proceeded to use the Windshield Wonder. Duh! You have to spray the wonder with a few shots of water. Well duh water freezes on cold windshields. lol. So I did one swipe and then had a big line of frost on the window. I decided to drive to work then clean it since the windshield would be nice and warm by then.
I took some before and after pictures below. I have to say that the Windshield Wonder worked really really well! The pictures don’t show it that well since I took them with my iphone and the lighting sucked, but you can see the one picture with the rear view mirror that came out real nice. If you windows are really really dirty you might have to give a nice one time cleaning and then use the windshield wonder to maintain. I would think this would be great for smokers. I am definitely impressed with the quickness of how it takes that film off my window. This has earned a place in my glove box and will be used often to keep my windows clean!
A definite buy!
You can really see the smudges that were there before. This only took about 2 or 3 back and forth motions to come clean. All in all about a minute to clean the whole windshield.

Emery Cat Review
January 5th, 2010OK so if you have read my blog before then you will know I have 2 cats and a dog! I love them to death, but it is hard to keep a house clean with this many animals. I do my best. My cats are just about 6 years old and I feel that they are too old to have them de-clawed!
They have always been pretty good with clawing stuff in the house. We had a really old couch that was a hand me down, so I never cared about it too much. The cats had their way with it, and pretty much tore it up. We needed to start looking for a new couch and since we have a micro fiber lazy boy upstairs that the cats never try to claw we figured the new couch would have to be micro fiber as well.
As I was doing my research I was also looking up info about cutting the cats claws or how too keep the nails clipped.
I found nail caps they seemed rediculous. lol seriously who would bother going through all that trouble to put those on your cat.
I also found the PediPaws. This thing is pretty cool, but I figured if I was going to seat through running this thing on them I might as well just clip themy myself.
I wanted a solution that did not involve me!
That is when I found the Emery Cat
This is not a cure all. I will tell you what this thing does. You know those death needles cats claws turn into when you don’t cut them? You know the ones that dig into when your kitty jumps up on you?
Well I have to say that the Emery cat totally gets rid of that. It’s pretty awesome and I am so glad that we got one… Well 2 they have a buy one get one free deal.
Cutting my cats claws was never a scheduled thing. It was pretty much ow!! Jeesh the cats need their claws clipped again lol. With the emery cat I haven’t even bothered with cutting them. It is a simple and effective way to keep your cats claws from turning into death needles.

Reset My Motorolla Droid
December 3rd, 2009Droid…….. Droid……. Shut up Shut up!!
Ok so we gave the Verizon Motorolla Droid a shot for a guy over here. After about 2 days he had it and wanted to get the Blackberry Tour. I am not going to go into a huge review of the Droid here because to be honest I didn’t even mess around with it too much.
Coming from my Iphone 3gs “which is awesome btw” the Droid really did nothing for me.
Complaints from the user?
1. Too Heavy
2. Touch Screen Sucked
3. Keypad was hard to type with
There were a few others but they were specific to his job duties.
Anyways I am returning the Droid and getting him a Black Berry Tour which came in the mail today and is just fine.
Ok so I needed to wipe out the Droid to factory settings.
Gotta love all the combination’s of buttons you have to press.
Here goes it!
1. Turn off the Droid. If you can’t shut it off then…. um… take out the battery.
2. Open the physical keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding the Power Button. The device will turn on, keep holding these two buttons until a yellow triangle appears. It my be a bit awkward holding these buttons down so push the phone against your chest just so you don’t lose your hold.
3. Press the Camera and Volume Up buttons at the same time to get a menu to come up. I had to press them numerous times to get this to work.
4. You have now entered Recovery Mode.
5. Use the Directional Pad on the Physical Keyboard to select wipe data/factory reset.
That’s it! Send that puppy back to Verizon and get an Iphone hehe.
Outlook Calendar Scheduling Issues
September 28th, 2009So I was having some weird issues with our outlook calendar.
When someone would send out a meeting request and you tried to respond you would get the following error:
As the meeting organizer, you do not need to respond to the meeting
This was driving me nuts.
This calendar is stored on a public folder and I was searching everywhere for an answer.
I tried Outlook.EXE /freebusy and that seemed to work for certain people, but not everyone and eventually the error would come back to all.
The other strange thing was that you could respond with no problem via outlook web access or via blackberry/iphone.
I saw so many questions about this on the web, with no answers.
I think I finally figured it out and hope that a few people can benefit from this.
Turns out the calendar was corrupted. Sometimes by using blackberries and responding to meeting requests it can occasionally cause corruption on that public folder calendar.
So what was I to do? Create a new calendar of course.
I was able to make a back up of the older calendar by selecting it and going to file export and save it as a pst file.
I then created the new Folder, then imported the old pst so all the calendar appointments show up.
You will have to go to each users computer and add the new calendar in so they can see it from the regular calendar view.
You will also have to adjust permissions again as well. It seems when you import the old calendar all the stats of who created what are gone and only admin can change the existing appointments.
Well I hope this helps a few people out there.

Kanye West Has No Tact
September 13th, 2009O.K. so I haven’t watched the MTV video music awards in years! I am flipping through the channels and bamm I see people dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. I mean who can not watch the Thriller video or the song if it’s on Tv or the radio right? So I decide to watch a great little tribute to Michael Jackson at the VMA’s.
So I decide to watch a little more! This guy Russel Brand comes out as the host. I can’t quite remember where I know this guy from, then it hits me. He was that crappy actor in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. ah…
Then this guy proceeds to start talking about how he offended George Bush and saying how Barack Obama would be president. Then he says a bunch of other stuff about his pecker and tight pants. He then decides to talk about England where he is from and how they have free health care and people there aren’t dying in the streets. Gives the good ole USA a bit of a jab about that. “why did MTV hire this guy to host?” Um… last I checked people aren’t getting turned down at hospitals or dying in the streets. The issue here is “universal health insurance”! This guy should stick to what he knows ; Pecker jokes and extremely uncomfortable looking pants.
I am starting to remember why I don’t watch MTV anymore. Do they even show videos anymore?
Well here comes the real kicker! The award for best female video is up and Taylor Swift wins for her song ”You Belong With Me”. Now I am not a huge Taylor Swift fan, but this girl has got talent! She is 19 years old and she was up against big artists like Beyonce & Pink! So.. this 19 year old wins her first VMA award and can barely say a few words when Big mouth Kanye West has to get up and grab the mic and say how Beyonce’s video was the best!! Are your friggin kidding me? This guy is just a disgrace. Not only did he insult Taylor Swift, but the industry as a whole. Then MTV proceeds to just move onto the next skit and that was about when I turned off the TV.
I cannot wait to see what happens with this. In my opinion Kanye West should apologize to Taylor Swift and too all the people who were there and had to hear the garbage coming out of his mouth. It was nice to hear people booing him in the audience.
I am also curious to see if Beyonce says something. She did looked shocked at the situation and I would think she will congratulate Taylor swift later. Guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow and see what happens.
Who knows maybe he will apologize during his live performance. Dang actually I may have to turn it back on to see if he gets booed!!

Which month of the year do you get the least web traffic.
August 17th, 2009Ok so August has been very slow for web traffic to a lot of my sites. This is typical as people are on vacation and generally outside more.
I was curious about how others web traffic rates and which month usually brings in the least web traffic.
I know niche has a lot to do with this as well, but I am curious to see what others have to say.
